1990-1992
Miserable as I was I spent a lot of time helping Christoph, tacking and untacking his horses, grooming, cooling down, etc. Sometimes after school I stopped by at a barn close to my school. The barn owner, whose horses were in training with Christoph, sent me away a couple of times, until one day I met her daughter who was feeling sorry for me and asked me if I would like to take care of Wendigo. At this time I didn't know that was the best thing that could have happened to me. Wendigo was old, wise and very patient with me. He tought me so much. With him I climbed from training level to third level without any riding lessons.

After I lost my beloved Sabrina because my sister moved her into another town, I started sneeking around in a barn next to my school. The owner Anne sent me away a few times, befor her daughter Alla felt sorry for me and asked me if would like to take care of Wendigo. Wendigo has been successfully shown higher jumping classes and 4th level dressage, when he became lame and needed a time out in the pasture. A doctor bought him, wanted to ride a bit on his own and use him for riding lessons with mentally disabled. Both didn't work and befor he was sent back to the pasture I came. I owe him more than I can say. He tought me a lot about dressage and how he wanted to be ridden. Soon I understood that riding collection doesn't mean slow riding and extension doesn't mean fast riding. Wendigo was the best teacher in the world and soon I was able to ride half pass in trot and canter, though I didn't had the money for riding lessons. I think the barn owner Anne was quite impressed and when it was finally time for Wendigo to enjoy the pasture, Anne asked me if I would like to ride Waipiti. Everything Wendigo did not tought me, Waipiti did. And it didn't take long and you could see me riding tempis. There is no better teacher than a well ridden horse.
